RÉSUMÉ : L’équipe de volleyball féminin s’incline devant l’UQAM en quatre manches
Les Gee-Gees se mesuraient aux Citadins samedi soir au pavillon Montpetit. Bien qu'elle ait remporté la première manche, Ottawa a subi une défaite de 3-1 aux mains de l'UQAM.
Tirant de l'arrière 6-1 au premier engagement, les Gee-Gees ont demandé un temps d'arrêt tôt dans la rencontre. La tactique a été efficace, puisque les Ottaviennes ont renversé la vapeur pour enlever la manche initiale au compte de 25-21.
Les Citadins ont repris les commandes de la rencontre, remportant les deux manches suivantes par la marque de 25-18.
L'UQAM a poursuivi sur sa lancée pour sceller la victoire à la quatrième manche. Les Gee-Gees ont pris les devants au départ, mais elles n'ont pu suivre le rythme des Citadins une fois en marche. L'UQAM s'est imposée 25-16.
Malgré la défaite, plusieurs Gee-Gees se sont distinguées dans ce match, notamment Alana Leung et Audrey Odigie, avec deux services gagnants chacune.
Odigie a mené les siennes avec 10 attaques marquantes, suivie de Grace McKale et Nicole Hildebrand, avec six.
Les Gee-Gees reprendront la route le week-end prochain. Elles ont rendez-vous avec Laval vendredi soir, puis avec l'UQTR samedi après-midi.
